Ran across this the other day:
http://www.haywardperformance.com/intake_systems.php
If you scroll about halfway down the page, there's a picture of a 968 engine with a set of ITB's. Anyone here know anything about this? Although, from what I've read about ITB's, you really need a lot of other mods geared at improving the engine's breathing (hotter cams, free-flowing exhaust, larger injectors, ported heads, etc.) to get much benefit from them, so it would be a very complex and pricey mod.
Also, I'm not sure how this would apply to a 968. It doesn't seem like a smart mod for a street car, since it first has to overcome the loss of the resonant intake manifold, and then would be very peaky, I would assume. And from what I've gathered, the vast majority of people who race 968s compete in classes where ITB's would either be outlawed outright, or would come with a big points penalty. So the only application I could see for them would be on a dedicated DE car, which seems like a pretty limited application. But I'm sure they sound fantastic at WOT.
