Simply remove that immense sunroof we have in our coupes ( more than 3/4 of the entire top ) place it in the hatchback space and you now have a targa, practically indistinguishable from driving a cab.

We had our 944S2 Cab up around 105 driving through South Dakota on our way to Boise for the 2001 Porsche Parade. Stable as a rock. Didn't get wet when it started to rain either, LOL. Josh's '94 is sold and what can you say. Money talks, BS walks. I had financing lined up to cover me until the 996 sold, but decided that I do not want to buy until I move the 996. Just do not have room in the garage and my wife would not be happy having to park on the street again.  I tried to PM tamathumper about the Guard's Red 968 Cab in the classified but I guess I have not posted enough to send a PM.

All righty then. How to get to five posts when I do not own a 968? I would guess no one is interested in 996 stories, LOL. IMHO they are probably the last p-car that guess you the complete experience as all the new cars have electonics up the wahzoo.  The C4S has PSM which means it has some driver assist involved, but you can turn it off.  PSM also means you need the PWSIS or something that can access the computers to set steering angle during the alignment process. That is one of the reasons I am looking for a 968 - I think I can do more work on it myself. Oh well.

Yup. Nah, that would be the 993 . ( IMHO ) . Welcome , and Inthink you will immediately fall in love with the 968 . I've driven both a 996 and a 993 ( preferred the 993 far far more than the 996 ) , but IMO the 968 easily is head and shoulders above both in almost every respect ..except speed . That's a NA 968 ..get a supercharged one and it's a whoooole different ballgame, lol.

PS: Speaking of speed vs top down. I have done 110mph with the top down....and it's a bit windy.....you get a lot of oxygen in the blood.

Just a couple months ago I & a friend of mine got to drive a twin turbo 911 GTS Cabriolet on the autobahn...with the top down. 

 

I won't say how fast we got up to, but it's rated top speed is 192 MPH.  I will say, it's the fastest I've ever driven a Porsche...

Drove the coupe at 165-ish + mph ( speedometer reading, so most probably it was 155-160 " true " speed ..) . I will never do that again because as opposed to getting a " lot of oxygen in the blood " , there's a decent risk that if something goes wrong you might end up with the reverse : a lot of blood in the oxygen .
