Wondering if the stock clutch is good enough for low levels of boost. I'm stock now, but future could include mild boost. According to the Sachs listings, looks like the stock 968 pressure plate # 3082 213 133 was also installed on some 90s 3.6l Porsche carrera 4's. If my internet search info is correct, the 3.6l engine on these had as much as 272 hp and 243 ft-lbs of torque.
I'll be replacing pressure plate # 3082 213 132 which is way too stiff for a DD. And, it was used in some 90s 3.6l turbo and GT2s with as much as 330kW (~450 hp). Don't know why anyone would have installed this in a stock 968?

Yes, the clutch story (well, pressure plate story really) for our cars is long and confusing. I too got my clutch kit from Pete. He's pretty much the only source for a 2500 lb. pressure plate. This was the PP weight the car originally came with. Now, if you order a 968 Sachs clutch kit from any other vendor, including Porsche, you get a 3100 lb. 964 pressure plate which, as mentioned above by Cloud, fits and works, but has some issues.
My clutch will be going in in a couple of weeks. I'll report in once it's done.

How much for the stock clutch from Pete at RS. I don't see the kit on their web site.

I have a new stock clutch and pressure plate with the supercharger and all seems just dandy.

How long/how many miles on the clutch with the supercharger. How much hp and torque? And did you also source it from Pete at RS?

MB968 - It's been a while since I bought the kit from Pete, but I think I paid in the neighborhood of $800 for the 2500 lb. pressure plate (it's made by AP), clutch disc and throw-out bearing. I'm planning to re-use the dual-mass flywheel that's in there - hoping it's in good shape. Give Pete a call, he's real easy to deal with.
Edit: I'm sure my cost was comparable to Cloud's numbers below.

Anyone using something other than the OEM Sachs. I know of at least one person using a Spec brand. The racing clutch in my boosted Mazda is a Centerforce Dual Friction (installed for about 10 years running about 315hp and 280 ft-lb of torque). Neither the Spec nor my Centerforce take a heavy foot to depress. In fact you wouldn't hardly even know they had significantly higher clamp force. That may be due to the fact that part of their increased holding is due to a higher friction material not just higher clamp force.
So, anyone have any good alternatives to the OEM Sachs?

I didn't see one on their site, but with all the interchangeability of Porsche clutches I think I'll call Centerforce.
