INSTALLED THE "RACK TACK"
#1

so i decided to install the "rack tack" delrin steering rack bushing from paragon - let me say that the idea is great - eliminating wiggle in the mounting of the steering rack makes for much more positive feel in the steering - that's the good news

the bad news is that the instructions for the bushing were for a 944 and not a 968 - it looks like they developed the part for 944s and figured that since the rack was the same it would work fine - not the case - they didn't take into account the presence of the air conditioning compressor - that was a real pain in the butt - i'm going to pass this tidbit along to them, but i wish they would actually try these parts on cars before they sell them - i've had this problem with other stuff from them - thier intention is great, and the parts end up being able to work with some effort, but the instructions are either less than optimal or incomplete

further bad news - if you have anything loose in the suspension, it now makes its way to the steering wheel - this goes for trammeling too

bottom line - i like the new part - glad i did it - just now have more to look at before i'm done - go figure

not much to show on this one - it replaces the rubber bushing on the steering shaft side of the rack - fits like oem when installed - the installation was just a lot more involved than the instructions said it was - i'll snap a shot though on thursday when i take the front bumper cover off to change the last body gasket (got shipped a wrong one by mistake)
