Ahem, that's actually a 944 Turbo, but you would think it was a Civic... You're right about my reaction, though. I even forgot to change into fourth and hit the rev limiter at 7,1. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/unsure.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I re-watched the run and noticed that your pass was done in a split sec. I think that turbos spooled lowers your confidence when entering corners. That or your a mad man.

Last year when we did that little 968 / 944 get together here, Mike Rayner's friend used a suction cup mount on the front windshield, and a 30GB HDD camcorder. Apparently there was too much vibration and they were forced to record video to a memory stick instead of the HDD. Just so you're aware!



However the video that Bandini posted is VERY smooth and stable, I doubt any HDD camcorder would complain!. Man does that track look like something out of an old Sega racing game or what? Clear blue skies, bushes along the track side, and wind turbines spinning away. Awesome!! The best part is windows media player started playing the video at twice the normal speed, for whatever reason, and without me knowing. I'm thinking "DAMN! What is this car he's driving!?.. Oh wait." Seriously! Our cars sound like formula 1 cars when you listen to them a 2x the speed. It's awesome <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Most PCA regions will not allow "suction cup" mounts. Hard mounts of any equipment, including Camera, data recorders, etc.

A two pound camera could be letal in an accident. No suction cup will hold up in that scenario.

(Sorry about going off topic for Modifications here. Perhaps a moderator should move this whole thread to Racing?) Anyway...



The track is beautiful indeed. It was built only recently in a limestone quarry on Sweden's largest island, Gotland. It's currently 3.2 km long, but they are working on an extension to 7.4 km, which will make it one of the longest race tracks in the World. Check out the Gotland Ring website for more.
