I can has RH wheels?
#1

So I finally got off my arse and washed the car since the weather was great this weekend...also, I wanted to show off the new wheels that I just got courtesy of Pat (aka smokiemon968). I felt so bad taking them from him but at least they're going to stay local...and we each have a new 968 friend in the nearby vicinity :-)

I shot about 60 pics in the garage at work, I'll post a few here and then you can click the link to see the full album...

Any questions about the car, feel free!

Thanks a lot for the kind words man!

I love Corrados too...I'm getting ready to sell both of my Corrados but I will always have a soft spot in my heart for them.

I'm really torn about selling the one in that specific picture, because it's got 56k original miles on the body and motor and the paint looks great!! It's tough to tell from that pic (and also it's been sitting in my driveway for like 3 years now...been moved maybe ONCE in that duration) but with a nice detail job the green car would be just as clean as the 968, if not more so!

Wow, thats low mileage. What does one in that condition go for and Why aren't you driving it?

When I bought the green Corrado back in 2004 it had 53k on it I think and I (over)paid $7.5k for her. I was looking for a low mileage example and after looking for almost 2 years, that was the cleanest one I could find and had a few nice mods (LSD, coilovers, exhaust) so I paid a little extra to make her mine.

Once I get her back into perfect running order (nearly 3 years of mostly sitting means I have a few things to refresh) I'm hoping that she'll fetch between $6500 and $7500....the used Corrado market is a little tough to gauge, lots of fluctuation and I feel that I can charge a bit of a premium because of what I have.

When we start getting some real stretches of warm weather here, I'll be listing her for sale...hell, I'm sure you'll see a posting in the classifieds here somewhere

And I'm not driving it because I actually bought the car while I was in school in Boston and kept it at my parents' house in Maryland. Once I graduated and moved back to the DC area, I started living in DC where I didn't need a car day to day either....and I felt guilty using it as a daily....so it just sat and sat. Now that I have the 968 as my weekend driver and bike to/from work, I know she'll just sit and rot away in my parents' driveway so it's time for someone new to enjoy her, take care of her and use her like she wants to be used....

Man I haven't talked about the rado in a while! I'm starting to feel guilty about her all over again...we'll see if I can actually part with her when it comes time to sell...

thanks for the kind words man! where's your car now...stored for the winter?

the wheels are manufactured by a company called 'RH'...the wheels I have are actually no longer in production, but there is a more 'updated' version of them available here:

http://www.rh-wheels.com/index.cfm?P=wheel...l&PID=67675

It's not an exact match, but close. The rest of the wheels they currently produce can be seen at their website. Unfortunately, they're extremely pricey to buy brand new. I got really lucky and found this set locally. It's actually pretty funny...back in December, Pat and I were both bidding against each other on two sets of wheels on ebay without knowing it. He ended up winning the set of RHs and I ended up winning a set of 17" wheels that were on my black coupe before it was totaled. Fast forward to last weekend when I found out he was selling the RHs to go a different route...I shot him an email and the rest is history....

I also got to meet him and his family this past weekend when I went to go pick up the wheels - they're good peeps...hope to cruise down to Hershey with them in a few weekends

BRING'EM BACK!

I am glad it worked out, the wheels look awesome.

And I am glad you are happy with the wheels.

How did you like that drive way? Imagine when it has a little ice on it.

You did pretty good!

Anytime you want get together, let me know. Me and GF go down to DC once a month, maybe we can meet for lunch or something.

A couple more parts to move and I will be placing an order for some CCW's.

Lol...like I said man, I was probably a few feet away from taking a nice slide down your lawn and landing on top of the SUV and benz...that would have been a nice entrance, eh? If your dad and gf showed up a few min earlier, i coulda taken them out too

I'm not just happy with the wheels, I'm in love...I don't think I would have wanted anything else for this car, they're perfect. I still feel guilty, but at least you're one step closer to those CCWs...not to mention your car would blow the doors off mine on the street. Anytime you're in DC, let me know...we will do lunch for sure.

The car is totally rip. Looks fast just sitting there.

The wheels look great - perfect on the GRed over black Coupe - really makes the package.

Now you have to keep it in the garage so it'll stay clean...

It was an option. You could also have the rear spoiler color matched as well.

If you lowered the ride height then you'd love how it looks even more.

Nah, I just bought her... she's in WA now, going up in three weeks to pick her up and drive down through Boise and SLC down to SE AZ.

I was actually surprised it took so long to sell those wheels.

Everyone else missed out on a smokin' deal.

This is actually the ONE small issue I had with the car. I wish the door frame uprights were black so I could get a slight tint and have the whole center section of the car be black...maybe I'll get that done whenever I do the rear black trim in guards red...

Suspension upgrades are definitely coming soon, though I don't plan to drop her much more on the 18s while living in the Capital area. I'll be getting something adjustable for sure so that I can have some fun when I switch to the 16" stockers...
