Ok, so has anyone 1) timed their SC'd car in a q-mile and 2 ) pushed it all tne way to top end speed ? Curious to see what the results might have been. In talking to flash, I was informed that while there could be material differences in performance from one NA car to another by virtue of any given engine's condition, the SC is more of a neutralizer / equalizer of those diffetences in pur cars so the delta from one SC car to the next ( same type ; coupe vs coupe or cab vs cab ) are much smaller.

Granted the speedometer error from one car to the next could vary as well, so maybe the real top speed will never be precisely known absent an actual measuring device, and then standing Q mile is also impacted a little by the initial take off driver skills, so that might also be subject to question, but again it's merely curiosity. If the conditions are right ( 99% confidence factor there is no highway patrol within a five mile radius amd no airplane speed control either ) on one of my next trips to SoCal I may try to test the new top end .

I haven't found the car that fast off the line. Faster but not slam you in your seats. It's better higher up the range and then slam! As long as the pooleece don't steal your car like our northern bro we all anxiously await your results.

funny you should bring up " off the line " . flat out I was able to get a nice squeal out of the tires from 1 st to 2nd , but not anymore with the SC. I'm going to guess that's due to the fact I was shfting at 7 k to 7.2 k , but now I hesitate to shift any higher than 6.2 k..

I know I can go a couple more hundred rpms, but not taking chances on potentially getting to a fuel cutoff point with an SC. Am told that's a lot more dangerous than with a NA engine.

There's an app for that. Download "Fastest Droid" It will give you 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile times.

i got a very nice bark out of the 1-2 shift, with you in the car. not sure why you aren't. might be your shoes.



you can't fight the physics. blow in more air and you get more power - period. rest assured that you're making more power, and therefore going faster. you CANNOT go by the seat of the pants. your torque curve is much bigger and flatter now. you no longer have the bump in the middle. i have always said that the car actually felt less exciting, and almost boring. but, a stopwatch and your speedo will tell the real story.



by the way, i posted a stage 1 comparison chart a long time ago.

dynolicious is the best app i've seen so far.

I don't go much over 100 any more, having witnessed a valve stem failure and instantaneous deflation one time. Scary. Those little guys get bent over at high speed quicker than a circus clown on a... never mind.

I have driven my car to the limits several times, not often and not for very long. I can't really say what the final top speed was because I was not looking down, it was very near to the stated max give or take speedo error. I frequently cross the 3 digit mark, almost every time I take it out I tried to lay in at least one run up to 100 "to blow out the gunk".





0-60, my Volvo would probably be almost as effective and I feel that the force of drag racing beats the car more than sustained high speeds. Naturally, there is the occasional teenage ricer that needs to be taught a lesson <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/3gears.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Me too, and I do think that's both more fum and the more satisfying aspect of driving this car, so not taking away anything from that, but from a thrill and nerves perspective , for me anyway, I find high speeds to be the more exhilarating of the two.



As for clowns, it should be known that I did struggle with the thought of posting that joke, but tested it first , live and in person with a few members of the fairer, and typically more sensitive gender , and since

not a signle one thought it was too horrible , I could not help myself. And besides, what makes you think that applies only to women , LOL .. Remember , they also say. Sex is best first thing in the morning ...unless you're in prison... Oh man, now I'm going to get bashed for being insensitive to incarcerated people.

I agree that this is fun, but please please please take it easy around blind corners. You never know what might be just beyond the apex. I do a lot of human powered cycling and I peddle like hell after hitting a blind turn apex to get out of that danger spot. Your closing speed could be from 20 to 40 mph depending on the angle of the turn and the grade of the road - a gentle uphill will be the fastest closing speed cause you are very fast and the cyclist is very slow.

nah - take it as fast as you can. that way, you make sure you kill the guy, so he can't sue you. if you only clip him, go back and run him over again.



lol - i used to ride a lot. i gave it up for this very reason. the reality is that riding a bicycle on twisty roads is a dangerous proposition, and ill advised. i got nailed twice and figured that was enough. my sponsors felt the same way, and cancelled my contracts.

nope. i take my life into my own hands when i step outside the door. i would have no right to sue because i put myself in harm's way, doing something inherently dangerous, and then got hurt.



times have changed. roads are mostly for cars now, not bicycles. most of the roads are just too busy. certainly any of the roads in the greater los angeles area are a bad idea. i realize that many people enjoy riding, and i used to. but, with things the way they are, it just isn't a good idea anymore. i don't ride the motorcycle like i used to either, and in fact went without one for a long time for a similar reason. i got nailed by a semi on the 405. i only recently picked up another one, and i'm not sure i'm going to keep it. it just isn't safe to ride here. perhaps if i were in a more rural area, i might respond differently.

i continue to get calls about the sc. the first question is always "how much hp does it make?" makes me crazy. it's as if they think that some magic number is going to equate to the way a car drives.
