Hi all,
1992 Porsche 968 Tip
In short my high beams to not work with the fog light housings plugged in. When they are both unplugged, the high beams work just fine. Based on this I do not think it is the switch. When one or both of the fog light housings plugged in, my high beams do not work. Fog lights work, but high beams do not. I swapped each housing out one at a time with a 95 968 (gotta love having a friend with the same car) and they each worked just fine. I also swapped one at a time each relay I could find (4 total including the double relay) with the relays from his car and they did not make a difference. So, I have ruled out relays, switch, fog light housings, and headlight bulbs (I just changed those also). I really have no clue what could be causing this. The wiring/connectors for the fog light housings and the headlights all looked good with no rubbing or hacking into at all. Luckily high beams are not a make it or break it thing for being able to drive it. Any ideas?
Also, my hatch button does not work unless the key is in the 1 or 2 position. On my buddies 95 it works at all times, and it also worked that way on an 84 944 I had. Any ideas?
Oh, and do the red lights go bad in the lock switch? My locks work fine with and also work with the key in the doors, but the red light doesn't come on when I lock them. The lights do flash on the doors, though.
One last thing, I am needing bulbs for the clock and for the LCD temp gauge, anyone have any idea what they take and where to get them?
Thanks a ton in advance, I am slowing getting this car back into great shape.
Zach
