Greetings
#1

Hello, all. I bought my 1994 968 cabriolet a couple of weeks ago down in Los Angeles, drove it home to Portland via Monterey and Pebble Beach, and thoroughly LOVE this car. My 944S will have to go, I need room in the garage. The a/c worked just fine on the 3 day trip home, then quit blowing cold after a couple days in the driveway, so the cab is currently in the shop getting a new compressor & other misc. parts to fix this problem. I miss it already.

I'm looking forward to the forum discussions.

Welcome Jim,

One of my most favorite places in the world is the Carmel/Monterey area. Wish I could drive it in a 968...Nice!

Regards,

Jay

Thanks to all of you who took the time to reply. I hope to be able to contribute something useful to this forum. As in, "never buy a 968 without getting the a/c system thoroughly checked out first". How's that for a starter? My cab is white/blue leather/blue soft top. When I figure out how to do it I'll post a picture. Talk to you later.

Welcome. So many new members coming on board its hard to keep up.

First let me say I'm glad your new 68 isn't a black cab with tan intr, rear seats and is not in the garage to have the roof repaired.
second- White and blue is nice color combo, cant wait to see pics.
Finally a broken A/C wouldn't stop me from proceeding with a cab purchase. I understand in some areas its a necessity but I'm guessing 90% of the time your top is down anyway. So if the AC is your only issue your doing just fine. Congrats

AMEN, mine is in the shop for what started out as a simple coolant flush and fitment of a new water reservoir. They are now also replacing, castor blocks on the A-arms, engine mounts plus engine and gearbox seals.

Luckily the Rear Main Seal I replaced while doing the clutch is bone dry

Congratulations on your new toy! I love blue on white, please post photos.
