Hi from Vancouver (part deux)
#1

Hi, I am looking at a 968 coupe in Vancouver. Low miles. Japan import. Tiptronic. Sunroof delete (that's gotta be rare?!?) I've been a member of many forums in the past for all my interesting vehicles (86 BMW M5; 82 924 Turbo; 88 924S; 82 Westfalia). None of those forums had "limited" access for newbies so I find this one strange in that regard. Anyways, look forward to participating and learning.

Welcome Vancouver<

We prefer to keep our community small and strong, so (only a bit) sorry for the hurdles.

Once you are a full member (only takes a couple of posts) we hope you will enjoy what sets this site apart.

Sounds like a cool car. Check the PPI form here on the forum to give you insight as to what to look for and avoid.

Regards,

Jay

Are you a hockey fan? There probably is no one In Canada that isn't. Anyway big Caps here. We may meet in the finals if you can get rid of those pesky Blackhawks. Was in your city 2 years ago and it is a beautiful place.

As another multi-car forum member I can say unequivocally that this has the best organization. You can typically find what you want without having to wade through buckets of slop and reposts.

Welcome from "down the Valley"! Interesting forums name you choose... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Let me know if you want to talk in person and see my 968 so you can compare things.

I will probably be in the city tommorow afternoon, and since it looks like the weather will be nice, I probably will be there in my 968. Otherwise I will be in North Vancouver early Saturday to participate in the Breakfast Run to Squamish.

Hi Vancouver, Welcome to the best forum on the web. I was suprised to read you imported your car from Japan I have been trying to buy a 968 from Japan for a while and keep running into problems. Is your car Euro specs or US specs? Did u buy it through a dealer or a professional importer? Any info would be great. I am not sure but maybe Canada isn't as fussy as US about imports. Much good luck with your 968

It is relatively easy to bring the cars in from Japan. That's why you see all these teenagers driving around in Skylines.

Oops. I meant to say in Canada. I am currently driving a 93 BMW 325i that initially had 32000km on it. Then I had to drop 5k on a new transmission rebuild when I found out that they used a Nissan transmission for one year in this car and that it is a piece of shat. Good thing I only paid 8000 for the car. My family and I have imported a number of them now and I would be cautious of anything with an automatic transmission. Low kms don't necessarily mean great cars.
