Hi from London
#1

Hi Guys,

New owner in London and thought I'd register here to get my daily fix of 968 pics and info. I've just bought a '95 Black Sport, not picked it up from the garage yet but I really can't wait! Until now I've been mostly into old VW's, but always fancied a Porsche. I was looking at the different options and decided on a 968. From what I've read they are fairly reliable if maintined well, they're fairly quick and handle great, they look great and seem to be a good investment. Its has 82k miles on the clock and its in great condition.

I'll post pics up when I get it.

Cheers,

Oli

Welcome. Enjoy your ride. Forget about the 968 as an investment and like will be just duckie.

Cheers guys! The 968's definately seem to be going up in the UK. Maybe its the CS effect! Not hugely, but a year or two ago you could get a good CS for £16k and now they seem to be £20k plus. Hopefully should pull up the sports with them as they are similar. But didn't really buy it for the investment, bought it becuase it seemed the best porsche for the money, and even if the value doesn't go up, I'm positive it won't go down.

Hi Oli,

Also have a 968 Sport; you've bought a great car, and I agree, values definitely not going down (even if not rocketing up).

Think my profile might say I'm still in Amsterdam but am near Chislehurst now.  There's another 968 owner who lives near me and we occasionally have a Sunday blast to a pub lunch somewhere along with a 944S2 and a 928 on some good roads in the Kent/Sussex downs.  Once you've picked your car up, and if you fancy it, give me a shout.

Terrible weather but a couple of shots before I take some good ones when it's sunny

have to say the ride height looks about right to me, don't know why there is a craze to lower the cars for street use , speed bumps will have your bat wing off and they are expensive

Yeah I think it looks right. But as standard I think they look a little high at the front for my liking. Just want to lower it 10mm at the front and it will look just right. I'm imagining when my car is accelerating it looks like a speed boat with the nose up

Just fit a splitter, that takes the look away, its the curved front that does it.

Does look good with splitter, im undecided on whether to get one though as I like the rounded nose. For me its the difference between the arch gap front and rear that my eyes are drawn too. Many will think Im just being picky (which I am) but coming from an aircooled VW background, its all about stance for me. Doesnt have to be lowered to the floor, just want even arch gap front and rear.

This CS sits perfectly for me. equal arch gap, gives a very slight noes down stance. Perfect.
