help identifying floor mat clips
#1

My newly acquired 968 came with these nifty floor mat clips. These are somewhat important to me because I have some paralysis in my legs which make me somewhat clumsy, and mats that bunch up around the accelerator pedal are a nuisance. The problems is that two of the four clips are broken and I would very much like to replace them. Can anyone identify the manufacturer of the clips and (I assume matching mats)? Note that the mats have a diamond pattern on the underside.

A gentle bump.

Surely someone has an idea who made these mats/clips. Or at least can I get some help in assembling a list of manufacturers and/or dealers of floor mats that I can contact?

My 93 has the same thing, I assumed they were factory. Hmm?

I've never seen mat clips like those. In my first 968 - and my current one - the mats are held in place by clips that pin into the carpet and have overcenter latches that lock onto the mat edge.

Thanks, guys. I guess I'll take one to show my local dealer.

Anchorman, any chance you could post a pic of how your mats are held in place? I have the same as you, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how those things work!

judging by your pic, I would assume that you can just loop the hole in the mat over the floor board hook. I guess I'm missing something here.

Mine simply has the pin that you stab into the carpet. (which doesn't hold well)

Tom have you tried the Loyds Mat site? They make some good mats for Porsche. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Yep, pretty sure Bob has that one nailed.

Email a photo to Lloyd's customer service and see if they can help you out. I saw the exact same hole and clip arrangement in an ad recently...not sure what site, tho... but I believe it was for Lloyds mats...

Is it possible to replicate the Turning portion of the "Clip" by carving one out of some black nylon material, (thinking Dremel Tool time!) and hold it all together with a small bolt and nut combo?

Most Lloyds aftermarket mats don't have the hole in them. They use a clip and strap system like on a life vest...

I'm traveling, returning later today, but my car is in for a new top and then a paint job. Don't know when I'll be able to post a photo, but when I can, I will.

Well I went to the Lloyds Mats site and looked through everything I could find and did not see the clips you show. It is of interest to me since my 968 also came with them and I assumed they were from Lloyd Mats because I had not seen them before. Maybe they were a factory option, but I haven't seen any mention of them in any option list either. Let us know if anyone finds out. They really do work well at retaining the mat and not allowing the mats to get folded, rolled up, or tangled and they are easy to release when you want to clean under the mat. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Tom - the floor mats in my Cayenne are held down with something identical. The mats in my 968 are held down with a little pin that attachs into the seat rail and then clips onto the mat, thus limiting its forward travel. They really aren't that good. The mats in the Cayenne never move.

Hi guys (including X-Y Kim).

I thought this thread had disappeared in the washing machine. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/laugh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I did find the clips, courtesy of Jeff at Sunset Imports. He found them in a catalog of European stuff I believe. They come in sets of 4, part number 000-043-202-78 for $16.27.

FYI there are the best floor mat clips I have seen and hold quite well.

I think they are genuine Porsche. My car is a Jap import, and an early model (91 - maybe it is age related), but mine does have them, and I have seen many others over here in the UK.
