Need some advice - a "buddy" <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> of mine used stickers to hang a temporary tag in my rear window and when he pulled the tag down the stickers stayed behind. Any ideas to get the glue residue off without damaging the plastic?? I tried rubbing alcohol but no go, afraid to go any stronger without advice.

Generally, I have heard Novus recomended for cleaning (removes the fogging if you work it to death). Not sure about adhesive...
I would try Goo Gone in a small inconspicuous area and see if it works...definately soft cloth, no abrasives...

Novus has a Cleaner and Polish. You want the cleaner to clean the plastic and then put the polish on it after. My experience with these products has been with motorcycle windshields and they work wonderful.
Goo Gone works wonders to remove adhesive, but definetely be careful so that it doesn't discolor the window.

I was thinking the same thing regarding Goo Gone, just too chicken to give it a try as my window is nearly perfect right now.
WD40 might do the trick as well.

I would go the Goo Gone route. I'm sure WD40 would work but would be concerned about it getting on other surrounding surfaces - so you obviously couldn't spray it and should get a clean towel each time you needed to moisten the affected area. WD40 is greasy and it stinks. Goo Gone is citrus based and contains nothing that should cloud or damage the plastic - in fact I've never had Goo Gone damage any painted or plastic surfaces where other chemicals have, especially nail polish remover and alcohol based solvents. Follow it up with some Novus or Meguires Plastx.
