HELP Ball point ink
#1

Some how on our last Rally I got ink from my ball point pen all over the partial leather of my door panel. I have tried every thing. Anyone know what might work to remove the ink marks with out ruining the leather look?

first, are you sure it's leather? most of them are all vinyl

if it's vinyl, try simple green

if it's leather, consult an upholsterer, but i've never found anything that removed the ink without having to re-dye the leather

Try a leather cleaner. A few years back, my with gave someone a ride in my 944. Of all things he had a Sharpie in his back pocket. All over the Linen seat. The cleaner removed most of it and time did the rest. May I add, she didn't drive that car for long time after that one.

Mineral spirits or lighter fluid.

lol - seems a bit harsh to suggest torching the car

try a regular white eraser but don't press too hard, just keep at it gently, gradually, and see if that works. unless this is a big puddle of ballpoint ink which sunk deep into the material..in which case i have no idea what you can use

Sounds odd, but when I worked in a trim shop that's what we used.
