Hi Flash,

Do you have this chassis brace in stock and what is the cost of that ?

I have now installed the roll bar, or what ever would be the right name for it, new drilled rotors with 'heavy duty' brake pads, new 17 inch wheels with good rubber, etc., so I will see how my -94 cab likes ti give good fun for old bugger at the Glen later this month.

Looking to post some photos too as I think I have very nice color/color combination on my cab.

Everybody have some good fun with your 968, Mark

Stable Energies as they had it in stock. I might have mentioned that I will now only test with this 968 cab how hard I will be 'bitten' and if I will start seriously looking to other 968 for more track use or club comps. So lets see. Mark

Mark,

Welcome to the slippery slope of modifying 968's. if you don't want to get bitten, don't take it anywhere near the track. Next thing you will be looking for a coupe - wait, there was one advertised today that probably fits the bill with one exception - no supercharger.

You could cut your pain short and simply get a 968 to track. If it is in your blood, you know it is an addiction and addicts will do anything to get their fix. The bigger the adrenalin rush, the better.

At least the track junkie 968 sub-group can look forward to a new member.

Thanks Craig for your supporting words. As said I will tell after my three, hopefully my cap can take all three days, at Watkins Glen and then I decide.

By the way it looks like my trip will be later this year to Brisbane/Gold Coast and if I come I will give a call.

What Mark won't tell us is that because of a previous life at the track, he only needs to take one taste and he will be schussing the slippery slope. Come on Mark, fess up! For those of you who might wonder at this comment of mine, except those who know me, Mark came to see me while I was at the Glen in June. He just hasn't decided on what the new car and mods will be! Lol

You are tight Rap and see you end of the month at Glen to talk more about this whole 'Marks exercise with 968' and where it could end up.

by the way, stable energies doesn't make anything, but sells the autopower unit for the cab. that is exactly the unit that pushed me into making my own. i didn't like how you had to hack up the car, nor did i like the small landing areas, or the reduction in seat recline. too bad you were in such a hurry. it should get you past the stewards though.

You are right, it is made by autopower, however this might be different model you are talking, as it fits well in and not reduction on the seat reclining. Anyhow I am a small guy so driver seat is not at all too near the bar in any position. As you said this stage makes the work, id going to 968 hardtop then it could be an other bar needed.

Hi Rap, just noticed little typing error on my reply to you; You are right... (not tight) sorry.

Also I have to confess that I have been scrolling on some 'for sale' pages to see what might be there for the base to build 968 track/club comp car, if....

Flash, I was reading during the weekend some of the writings on the forums (much very interesting stuff) and find one of your writing to somebody, saying that go to turbo ? To me you wrote earlier that there has NOT been too good experiences on 968 with turbo, what you know ? Can you tell more about that subject, as I might look further what I will do regarding when selecting possible track car.

that is a topic for an entirely different area, and shouldn't be here in introductions.

that being said, it has been discussed in depth though, and some searching will turn up those conversations. they should all be in the heavy breathing area. i don't want to rehash that stuff, but if there is something that you don't find in those conversations, feel free to start a new thread in that area.

Flash. Sorry the wrong address for my writing. Which one is the right one as you did not pointed that out, which I would assume as a new on the forum. I do not know all your requirements/protocol yet, hopefully learning them before getting too frustrated with some stuff I am getting as reply to some of my writing !

Hopefully things get better...

Thanks, I will study that part of the forum to try to find answers if I should go further with my thoughts to have GOOD = Most enjoyable and competitive (if I start to do some competitions again I like to be the winner not the looser as I never have been one) track car on 968, or should I look other makes like Mitsu Evos etc..

lol - tama- i am deliberately trying to get people to wander around the site and stumble upon things, not just give a link, which then reduces the chances of finding cool stuff, as people are generally lazy
