Hello, this is Mark (aga OptiGolf), a new 968 owner.

Flash, good advice that wondering one, unfortunately not right in my case (I have spent lots of time during last few weeks I have been allowed to access forums to study what is available), however it is like surfing on web, if it will not hit on first few minutes, most of the people will quit and go somewhere else like competitors page.

Thanks anyway, Mark

well, then they would miss out. i have no sympathy for the lazy. you get back what you put into something.

the site is structured to prevent repetitive threads and questions that have already been answered. this is more of an encyclopedia than a social site. in a perfect world, there would only be the information, in a clearly organized fashion, with no discussions, and then a chat board that erased itself continually. but, that doesn't really work well. besides, the social component seems to please many people. so, it stays.

but, there are reasons there are limits placed upon new members, and filters on new thread titles. it is specifically designed to force them to search and read first, before asking the same old questions. this is particularly important in areas that discuss things like forced induction, performance upgrades, tires, and wheels. these are areas prone to knee-jerk questions that have already been answered.

if that means that somebody wants to go somewhere else, so be it. if, however, they want to spend the time and use the bloody search engine, or poke around a bit, they will find a wealth of information, and they won't waste people's time asking the same things over and over.

we have a really good core of dedicated enthusiasts. while it might be cool to have everybody here, we prefer a smaller group of friends and like-minded people, than merely a mass of lurkers and such. the members here have learned how the site operates, have learned to take advantage of its superior structure, and in turn have given back some great discussions, which are on topic, detailed, and often illuminating.

Thanks for long explanation about the forum. I try to keep it on my mind and learn to use the forum more efficiently. Sorry to ask but still I have not received your answer why on other post you say go to turbo and to me was a bit different (do not worry I will read the pages related to that subject once I find the time). Thanks, Mark

lol - i'm not going to get into another turbo conversation. if you went in and read just how many times this has been discussed, you would understand my reluctance.

i answered your question (albeit before you asked it) in another thread.

search is your friend.

as it has become something other than an introduction, this thread is now closed
