In answers to my problem of hard starting I was given reference to a one way valve in the fuel line. Looking at the factory parts catalog, I can not find it, but in one of the online parts suppliers I saw one for sale. Looked like a tube, threaded both ends, flange in the middle, cross holes through it like a banjo fitting went on it. Is that it and does it replace one that comes in the end of the fuel pump? I may not know what i am talking about since I have never had the fuel system apart, so please help me.
I am also changing out the DME relay. I have lots of those as I run a 993 engine, but not in a 993..
I ordered all the high pressure fuel lines from Porsche as there was no reference in the service records to them ever being changed in the 19 year old car. Figured that if I was replacing the fuel filter and cleaning the tank outlet filter an old line might not take to being bent around. Of course here in Tucson. nothing is stocked for 944's or 968's. When you include the line to the fuel rail ( that.s expensive) and a fuel filter, $200 moves from my pocket to Porsche's.
I also set my injectors off to RC Fuel Injectors in Torrance CA. They have cleaned all my injectors for the 993 engines and I have consistently had good work from them and they replace all the o-rings and pintel caps as part of the deal.
When I took the injectors out they looked bad. Also lots of crud built up at the bottom of the injector holes in the manifold.
