Happy Thanksgiving
#1

As the mad dash for turkey and family starts today I just wanted to say a Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

I am thankful for the health of my family and friends.

I am thankful that (so far) we have weathered this terrible economy.

I am thankful that I have a happy home, and a wife who loves me and supports this mad 968 obsession.

I am thankful for all of you, my extended family of enablers...

Happy and Safe holidays to you all!

And a Happy Thanksgiving to you Jay, and to all!
I also have plenty to be thankful for, both personal and, well, not so personal..
Even though I am working 12hrs today, I'm working. My understanding family and I will have our
gathering tomorrow. May this holiday find you all well, with family and close friends, and great times!

Best wishes to all, make sure you brine that turkey with a bit of tequila and infuse your cranberries with vodka and have a great, thankful meal !!

With cheers from a new supporter of PETA ( People Eating Tasty Animals ),

Best regards,

Thanks, everyone. Based on some news I received yesterday, it now appears that this will be more of a Thanksgiving day than it was looking like. After being basically income-less for more than a year, it looks like I've landed a short-term consulting assignment. Assuming it comes together (there are terms to be negotiated, so "it ain't over 'til it's over"), I'll have some decent income for the next four months with the hope that this will turn into something with longer duration - maybe even something akin to "a real job".

In the meantime, though, next weekend will be the third consecutive track event that my son will be going to without "dear old Dad". Sigh...

Still reasonably healthy, though.

There is much to be thankful for in the Vais residence this year. We are celebrating Thanksgiving with my family in our home for the first time in 12 years. Our Son's journey through the world of drugs, resulted in many things, not the least of which was that the house was ransacked by people looking for him and drugs. The interior was trashed. In the years that have passed there were no resources to get things set right, we are only just beginning now 10 years after the incident.

Our Son is doing well, clean and sober, and on the verge of a career opportunity that may be life changing for him and us as well. I am thankful for every day that he is with us and that he has overcome and learned to live with his addiction.

No for some fun. Go to this web site, www.canepa.com. Look for the in car videos and select the one for the 917 at the Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca. Turn the volume up loud. The sound is beyond imagination.

Happy Thanksgiving All

Chris

i have never been big on it either, and have plenty to be thankful for, but as i prepare to embark upon the annual gorging and debauchery, i had a moment to do some rather sobering quick math to put the day in a perspective

with a conservative 50 million households doing a feast, and easily $20 per feast even after considering free turkeys, that is 1 billion dollars, and could realistically be more like $20 billion

think of what that kind of money could do for the homeless shelters and women's shelters
