Half a Horn?
#1

Last night as I'm leaving the office I find I'm blocked in as some clown has parked across my driveway! I lay into the horn hoping the inconsiderate driver is in one of the stores on my block. The horn sounds like it always does for a second or two, then the sound changes. It sounded as if there were two horn notes, one lower register tone and one upper register tone. The lower tone just dropped out leaving the upper tone to sound off all on its own. Is this a dual horn? Anyone experienced this before? Can I just leave it as is? Does Porsche charge $1000 for a horn unit? Thoughts? Suggestions?

There is a low and high pitched horn, they are purchased separately. Looks to be about $25 used. I'd check the fuses and connections first. Low horn 928.635.222.00 and high horn 928.635.221.00

So, were you able to get out of your office, or are you hunkered down, growing increasingly desperate for food and provisions? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

Unfortunately, the lady driving the car showed up before the cops or the tow truck we called. "I was just going to the UPS store" (she was there over 20 minutes). Which brings me to another question: Does anyone know of a marker that is hard to wash off glass? I know there's one out there as it happened to me once. I had parked in a spot near a post office with a disabled friend and we put the hang tag on the mirror, so it was legal. Nevertheless, someone got pissed off and wrote a nasty note on my window with some kind of marker that was a bear to clean off. I've been looking for something like that ever since.

A black Sharpie would probably do the job. But if your leaving a message on the car, there maybe some legal ramifications of damaging private property.

I have often considered responding to similar situations. I like the sharpie idea. However, that said ,one never knows just who is driving any particular vehicle or their mental state! Calling a tow truck is probably the best idea. If executed before person returns wouldn't the look on their face be worth a million bucks as you respond to their question, " what car, I don't know what your talking about".

Once, in a garage I paid monthly to use, I forgot my hang tag and simply entered with my access card and parked my car. The attendants put 3 8.5X11 stickers on my front and side windows explaining that the garage was for paid members only and the next time i would be towed. it took a few cups of water and scrappers to remove them.
