I was in search of a 1987 944 Turbo, but landed in a 2 owner 1992 968 cab with 90,000 milesand couldn't be happier. Advice as to maintenance issues, as well as what to look out for, WELCOMED!

welcome!

what to look out for are events in the Local Events section. we socal guys do a few over the course of the year.

read read read. there is a ton of information here. most of your questions have been answered, and are here on display. it will be a lot more effective than asking sweeping questions at the onset, and getting barraged with disparate answers.

Welcome! Good move going for the 968 instead of the 944. You're going to love it! As for things to look out for, if you search around you'll find that many of us always carry a spare DME relay. Another common failure for which many of us carry a spare is the Heater Control Valve. You might also want to search around the forum for the "airbox mod". Finally, I'd suggest checking out design1racing.com. Bob, ("Flash"), who moderates this site has designed and manufactured several great mods and/or additions for the 968. Truly a labor of love for this car. As he recently announced that he is essentially done and is moving towards shutting things down, you might want to grab some stuff before it's gone.

The air box mod, front strut tower brace, lower suspension/caster brace, fire wall brace and splitter are highly recommended and with the exception of the air box mod, a DIY mod, available from D1R.
