Greetings from Iowa!
#1

I am a new member to this forum.  I bought my 968 in December 2018.  It is a Cobalt Blue metallic coupe with black interior and manual transmission.  Been spending a lot of time chasing down solutions to issues that the PPI did not bother to note, but definitely should have!  Almost fully ready for the road now, save for a stray electrical issue that does not allow for power door locks, interior lights to come on, power mirrors and exterior temp display.

Saratoga glass roof?   What?    After a quick bit of internet searching, now I find some other ultra-rare item I'd like to add to my 968.    Thanks a lot waylander!   ;-)

Oh, and welcome, dsmblue - definitely would like to see pics of your car once you get past the 5 post mark.   Please add it to your "garage" at a later point.

yes the Glass roof was an expensive option

Pilkington Glass made a limited run of 50 new roofs in 2016, I was on the list like a shot, makes the car so bright and airy inside.

Thanks for the photos , I had not seen a 968 with a Saratoga roof before , but must admit this looks very nice !! Excellent option .

On a side note about apple devices and photos ; your photos looks to be correctly rotated in the post , but I often ( although not always ) experience similar issues with my IPad .. what’s really strange though is this : half of the time the photos end up either sideways or even upside down ( the latter is rare, but does happen ) when posted, but inexplicably the other half of the time they are sideways when I look at the post on my iPad, but if check the post on my “ real “ computer the photos are correctly positioned on the post . Explain that !! #metooIhateApple.

I cant, as they are the right way round in photo viewer on the PC!

the roof makes the car so light and bright inside but no frying your head in the sun,  best $500 i have ever spent on the car except for the Brembo Disks and Pads,

Yep, same problem with my iPad so I no longer use it to take or upload photos to this site. If I take a photo with my android phone I either uploaded from the phone, which can be tedious, or email it to myself and then upload later from my laptop.

Is the top a plug and play? No mods to get it in? Looks great. Does it go up or is it stationary? My targa’s roof is all glass and I love the light and airiness. Might have to think about this!

Yes it’s just swap over, works just the same as a standard roof, just weighs about half as much as the standard roof

when mine arrived it was fitted in less than 5 mins, had to adjust the front left fixing as I got a lot of wind noise over 100mph on the motorway

and strangely the pictures are the right way round on the iPad but rotated 90 degrees on both my pc’s and my laptop and my Linux machine

Yes, there are a few 92-93 Cabriolets's in Amethyst Metallic but only 1 (true, not revinned) 94 Cabriolet and 1 Coupe brought into the NA market. Both where C2S options.

Electrics are kind of sorted.  The interior lights ended up being the passenger side hatch strut missing the cap that breaks the connection when the hatch is closed.  Unfortunately, once I got everything buttoned back up, interior lights don't light up at all, as opposed to being always on.  Guessing that the alarm module may have gone bad, as power lock capability is also not functioning.  Got mirrors working, had to put in new connector housings on passenger side and resolder motor leads on passenger mirror, as they were hooked up incorrectly.

Progress, bit by bit, and good luck with the rest of it. "Incorrect wiring", yep unfortunately with old cars we can take nothing for granted.

The alarm may have been disconnected if some of the switches (doors or bonnet or trunk etc) had stopped working / failed wiring ... your inoperative interior lights might be part of this issue. Sounds complex to track down.
