Welcome...my first Porsche was a 911. I think you will find the 968 to be a well rounded, fun car.

Welcome Adam,
While my heart always beats faster for 911s especially RS models, my head knows that the 968 is far superior to the garden variety 911. Good luck with your search...and follow your head, not your heart.
Regards,

My first Porsche was a 911,
and my second,
and my third,
and my fourth,
and my fifth,
and my sixth,
and my seventh ...
.... and number eight is a 968.
A ninesixeight will never be a nine-eleven ... but it's a real Porsche - that can easily outbeat a lot of other Porsche's <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Wow, what made you choose the 968?

Hi Adam,
Before my 968, my car was an '82 911SC Targa for 11 years. They are way different cars. The 968 doesn't smell, is quieter, doesn't leak, has a smoother ride, overall more comfortable, the AC is real, more refined, has more space, and I have the tiptronic so I can relax in traffic, and is just as fast or faster than the SC. Of course the thrill of pure driving isn't even close to the 911. But I wouldn't trade back. I am sure the newer 911s have all the qualities of the 968 compared to older 911s, but as you said they are way more expensive. Cool thing about the 968 is they are pretty exclusive, 911s are pretty common around here, and the 968 always draws attention.
