rear hubs

I m trying to remove the rear hubs and its not as easy as the 944 do i need a puller and do the bearings come out with the hub?

No i didn't but just figured it out, you need a puller <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Just wanted to make sure so i didn,t screw anything up Thanks though.

The inner race of the bearing will come out when you take the hub off. As for the outer race, you need to heat up the housing with a torch to get it out. Go from the back with a large socket, around 26mm, and whack away. It should come out if the housing is hot enough. Be sure to take your abs sensor out or you will cook it.

Easy... hmph. You have my props! I love working on cars, but doing the rear wheel bearings on my 944 was one job I completely hated. The fronts were fun though.

lol: I didn't say the bearings were easy, just getting the hubs off. I did the bearings on my 944 and it

sucked but the hubs slide right off, on the 968 the hubs are a little tougher but the bearings are easier.
