Hey all-
SNOW REPORT
I mounted a set of Continental Winter Contact TS790 on my 17" rims just in time for the first real snow of this season. School was cancelled, but I drove in to pick up some music theory papers to grade.
Driving through about 2" of slush and snow before the back roads were plowed, I find these to have much more "bite" than the "all season" tires and are a huge improvement in these conditions. Much more grip in turning, stopping, pulling away, and braking.
After performing the standard and required 5-10 doughnuts in the parking lot, I headed home. From what I have read and experienced, the rubber is softer and has more grip in colder temps. Likewise, once it gets warm, they'll have to come off or I will wear them out very quickly.
Once it gets drier out there, I'll come back with a report of how they do then. Now, it's time to grade some counterpoint!
Cheers!
