fuel guage
#1

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

After several searches and getting the above quote, i give up and just ask:

My fuel guage is showing only completely full when powered. Needle drops when power off. Have not had chance to trace wiring but suspect faulty connection at sender. Has been occuring since I bought the car.

I noticed that i was getting such great mileage, then decided to fill up and found she needed 10 gallons.... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Anyone else experience this??(not the great mileage, the faulty reading...)

Check you grounds.

There is a major one near the dash and the ground for the sending unit is near the passenger tail light.

I posted a pic of the ground points but I forget what thread.

Better to check the wire near by the fuel sender in the tank.

Maybe this one is grounded or cracked. In the worst case the sender is faulty. You can access the fuelsender from the inside of the car.
