so, everything has been fine from day 1 with the oil pressure on this car i have in the garage.  all well within acceptable norms, and in face quite good.  then, 2 days ago, the gauge decided it just wants to read full high.  no other symptoms.  no other work anywhere near anything to do with the oil system.

 

i'm thinking bad sender, but not sure.  don't want to just start throwing parts at it.

Did you try tapping on the instrument cluster face? It works when my temperature gage pegs for no reason.

I would disconnect the wires from the sender first. If it drops, it's the sender. If not, there's a short somewhere.

Yep have had it twice in 10 years. For me twice the sender. Even without rpm. Full pressure.. between first and second start for example. Zero when it stays longer than a night.

Bob, where in Ireland do you plan on locating? You'll have to find a Pub that you like and stick with it. Practice throwing darts so you won't look so bad when you are asked to join in on a game.
