Speed Yellow cab on eBay
#1

Bit of a rare color -- so I figured I'd point it out. (PS -- I'm not affiliated).

Wonder how he has it priced. The wheels are very nice. Miles are about average - maybe a hair high to command a premium. But otherwise probably about a $23k cabriolet... except for that color.

I haven't seen a 968 sell for over 20k in forever, and especially not one with 93k miles.

i have, but they have been fewer than in recent years - insurance companies are still valuing such a car just over 20 too

a 93k cab, in really clean shape, should bring 21 or so - i can't tell from the tiny pics how clean it really is, and i would realy need to open the hood and look under the car to tell - the yellow will add, but only to a collector or someone who really wants yellow - to most people it is a big minus - the wheels are a similar complication

odd cars are tough sells - rarity, or a marked difference from the standard, brings with it its own complications when it comes to resale, especially if you expect to get a premium for that difference

i'd have a hard time selling my car too, regardless of what i think of the things i have done - any expectation of premium for the "upgrades" would seriously affect the buyer pool

Bob and I chased a few white cabs when I was looking a couple of years back. I was set on finding a yellow cab, but the dotnet public opinion(s) at the time told me I was wasting my time. I'd trade my 29,000 midnight blue for a speed yellow one all day long.

The rear bumper on that black one that sold for 21k looks modified on the bottom. I wonder if it was a ~fix or what?

Yep, the black one had some damage to the lower part of the rear bumper. The ebay lister didn't metion it in the ad and manipulated the pictures to omit the lower part of the rear bumper. Yikes!

I emailed with the guy and he made light of the problem. blah, blah, blah.

The yellow cab has Kinesis Supercup wheels. I had these wheels years ago. Not a big fan, as the centers were for 17"s and look "dinky" when mated to 18" inner and outer halves.

Also, the yellow cab has crash damage with a new front bumper and fender. The body shop "blended" the new paint to the old and only did a "fair" job at best.

Over 90,xxx miles, crash damage, so-so "blended" paint job. Thanks I'll pass.

My two cents, the car isn't worth a nickle over $15,000; and that's probably being generous as I'm a HUGE Speed Yellow fan!
