No Owner's manual, how big is the gas tank?
#1

When I fill the car up, the gas gauge only goes to the 3/4 mark. The most I have put in it so far is 13 gallons. What size is this tank? My car didn't have an owner's manual so I can't look it up myself (anyone got a spare?)

Also, I only got one key with the car (door/ignition). What key fits the glove box doors in the rear of the Cabbie?

And finally, what's with the big black rolling pin thingy in the passenger's rear cubby?

Tony,

According to the owner's manual:

Fuel Tank is 19.55 gal...approx 2.1 left when idiot light comes on. My guage goes to about 7/8 when full.

I only got two keys, one round and one of the hex head/crest/lighted keys that was broken and had no crest. Both of these turned out to be master keys and worked in everything - ignition, glove box, cubbies. I have since ordered and cut two new lighted crest keys that work great.

I think the rolling pin thingy you're referring to is the counter weight that some people remove, and some don't...there are some threads on here about pros and cons.

I haven't had any luck getting a Genuine Porsche owners manual...I ended up getting one on eBay...they pop up from time to time.

Fuel Tank

"Approximately 19.55. S. Gallons or 74 Liters including a reserve of 2.1 U. S. Galloons or 8 Liters"

Keys

The car came with

3 keys for the Ignition (2 with Heads/Lights, 1 Flat Key)

1 Key for Wheel Nuts

1 Key for Lockable Stowage

The key for the cubby is different than the Ignition. I suspect that you will need to go to a dealer with VIN to obtain this information.

Cubby Rolling Pin Thingy

Basically, a weight for balance/distribution...lots of discussion, no real answers. Some people say its ok to remove, other say not....

Thanks for all the info everyone. As for the TMD in the passenger rear section, I read the thead and now things are starting to make sense... Playing around a little with the Cabbie I have already noticed it doesn't handle quite like my previous 944s (I have had several...). The weight bias makes it make more sense. So for now, I will quit cursing the new Toyo Proxes that came on it and just realize it won't handle quite as well as my 88 951S or my 72 914. It still handles better than most new cars out there. If I want to play on the track or in the twisties, I will take one of the others out. I bought the Cabbie to be a comfortable commuter, as long as I remember that, it handles just fine <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

When I got my 93 Cab it only had the 1 key for the doors & ignition & glove box. I took the lock out of the rear door box to a lock smith and he was able to match a blank and cut a key from just having the lock.

I got a replacement key blank from Performance Products and had a key made at Home Depot. They also had a blank that matched. Had to buy the blank as they did not know how to charge for just making a key. I still have the blank and you can have it.
