The sighting was at the Petersen Automotive Museum, in Los Angeles lol..   I was there this past weekend, and had the VIP tour tickets for  " The Vault "  ( those of you who have not been it's a 90 minute guided tour with history narrated on practically each special vehicle )   The vault contains probably double or triple the number of cars on the museum floor.    No photos allowed, so the images below were

the result of "sneaky photography", so not necessarily top quality..    Had no idea one of the Turbo RS's was bought by the Museum.

The extra bonus to my visit there was a special Porsche exhibit which runs for about a month, on the main museum floor.   I'll try to post some of the other photos I've taken ( maybe less than 25% of the Porsche collection they had on display)  but not sure if I have to resize them first or how many I can post in a single post.  For now, here is the RS shots :

I asked the guide how much the museum paid for it, but he could not disclose that . He also said that guessing a current market value is rather difficult, but he would speculate it could be as high as $ 500 K .


They had quite a few of multi-million dollar cars in the vault, with the largest figure attributable to a 1962 or 64 ( I can't remember which year ) Ferrari GTO , which had an estimated price range between $ 40 Mil to possibly $ 50 Mil. Sheesh, you can't even find more than a handful of mansions in that price range .
