From my point of view there's nothing wrong with helping refugees, not even a lot of refugees. The problem is that a whole bunch of them will stay and eventually will become voting citizens. What's wrong with that will you ask, when they are middle class and intelligent people, willing to work?
Well, first of all they do not separate religion from state affairs like we do over here. That will create issues because already Islamic and Orthodox Jews are frequently trying to bend the laws of our secular way of life.
Secondly - and in the case of my country - many of them will adopt the French language and will be living in Brussels. This could mean and even further 'invasion' of francophones across the language barrier in Flanders.
And thirdly, what the about the millions of native Europeans living in poverty? The ones who have fallen of the grid and receive no or very little social welfare? Are the politicians going to help them too?
