Where do you store your wheel lock key?
#1

I'm talking the Mcguard style that fits over special lug, not the key style used on the early 968s. Trying to figure out the best place, in the tool kit in the lug wrench? Loose in the glove box?

Ya, be careful with them, they don't last forever, I have had one snap.

they don't hold torque as well either. they aren't allowed on the track with most sanctioning bodies.

that's why i immediately took mine off the car.

You know, there is something to be said for that. Are wheels even stolen any more?

That's a really good point. Mine are installed on the wheels, but they really don't need to be... I have the key-style, and only the one key IIRC.

Duly noted. One more item on the to-do list.

I don't use wheel locks anymore after a mechanic over torqued it. It had to drilled out (2 wheels). I have Fiskes FM10s. As has been said who steals wheels anymore. Although Porsche has wheel locks on all it's cars. PIA!

heck, i don't even use the aluminum nuts anymore, since i have found way too many of them that can no longer hold full torque. they lose that ability after about 25 on and offs, and by now that means just about every car.

I tossed mine as well as one was snapped off by the PO. I was lucky the tire shop got it off without too much swearing.

Every time I torque down my aluminum lug nuts I cringe.

Does anyone know where to get BLACK steel lug nuts? Chrome ones are easy to find, as are open-ended black ones, but I want black closed-top ones that look just like the stock aluminum ones and haven't had any luck finding them yet.

Thanks from me also. My chrome lugs are getting a little ratty looking. I figure the balck ones won't show the nicks as much and would look good with the Fiskes.
