'Knocking' sound coming from the rear right wheel...
#1

Hi guys,

Lately I've been hearing a 'knocking' sound coming from the rear right wheel. I'm thinking that it's the bushing. The ride hasn't been compromised but I can't stand the sound!

Is this kind of stuff easy to replace on our cars? I'm mechanically-inclined (sort of <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> but have never replaced one on a 968.

Any help would be most appreciated.

cheers,

milton

Hey Bob!

When I go over bumps. When I'm on the straight road everything seems to be ok.

If it is the bushings I may want to replace them with other ones. I drive the car daily so any suggestions?

cheers,

Just get it up in the air and look at the sway bar bushings, drop links and anything else that may be loose. If you need new sway bar bushings try the Delrin bushings from Paragon Products. They will improve handling and last a long time. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

What was the solution to this? I'm starting to get some noises from the back of mine when I go over bumps. Its a popping sound. I did a quick inspection of the sway bar mounts and bushings (delrin) but didn't find anything. I did look at the spring plate bushings and they might need to be replaced since the bushing looks crushed on the bottom and the rubber looks a little porous. Is there anything else that could be causing the noises? Maybe its just me but it seems to get worse the longer I drive the car.
