Kaj "I noticed them missing".
Is that the same as "I looked for it and, there it was, gone".
Merry Christmas. I find it hard to go more than I day without making some sarcastic comment to somebody about something. Pay me no mind, I am simply at my office bored.

Yes, they stopped installing them somewhere along the line.
My car also didn't have installation brackets, but the covers just lay in place.

They are from PET, the Porsche parts system with up to date pricing
I sure I did that in USA area, but I ca double check
Always go to your Porsche Main Desler first for pricing quite often they are cheaper
In the U.K. we get an extra 10% off for being PCGB (Porsche Club GB) members,

Is that a dealership? we have parts places over here like design911, type911, rose passion and others, but most of the time the Porsche main dealer like
https://www.porscheeastlondon.co.uk/
are cheaper
and definitely cheaper for lots of parts than 30 year old rubbish on ebay
I bought a new cover to go over the fuel sender in the boot / trunk, $20 plus on eBay, $7 brand new from Porsche

Yes pelican and sunset are parts resellers just like ours, if you have a main dealership in you local city or town, it’s better to buy from them as it keeps the parts purchase going through the database back in Stuttgart, helps keeps the parts flowing for our cars
a few years ago I went to an event, an evening with Derek Bell, what a night out that was, anyway I spent about 30 min chatting to the head of classic spares from Stuttgart as he was there, and he said the more spares we buy direct the more support Porsche will put into spares for years to come
