Sometimes it's hard to figure out where to post things here but I ran out of patience at "Go Fast Goodies..."

So, I've been sitting on the SS clutch hose and SS brake lines for a couple of weeks and finally decided to get them installed today. I don't have the time to do this anymore so unfortunately I had to part with some green to get it done. Of course, while I'm getting this done I might as well have the oil changed, balance belt tightened along with checking all other belts, lube, changing out the heater control valve (was still OE), check hoses and fluids in the rear end and tranny and tighten up the rear wing.

So, with the new SS parts added and other stuff on the list checked off, I'm off to pick it up. It's funny that something as simple as having a mechanic give the car a clean bill of health can put a big smile on your face. With all the drama on the Paso Robles run, I can now rest easy that I have a SS clutch line. That thought has been in the back of my mind with just about every shift...

Every time I bring it to the shop they tell me it's in the best shape of any 968 they have ever seen. I'm sure they say that to all the 968s but I smile just the same!

Always a good feeling to have things updated and others checked out. Also agree on finding a place to post stuff.

lol - it's not that hard guys - maybe you just need to print out the Outline from the Tutorial so you have a map - the software doesn't allow me to do drop-down menus, or i would do that - as it is i am having to go back and clean up a lot of threads and put them where they belong

but this one indeed doesn't really fit anywhere

maybe i need to start a new category - hehehe

glad you got that stuff sorted out though - always feels good to know it's solid

Awesome, please add another category! (haha...).

Well, not sure how to feel about the car. When I picked it up, I let it idle while I kicked the tires to make sure the wheels are on (I had a loose one one time from a mechanic so I always check). The SS clutch makes the clutch feel mushier and the SS brake lines causes the pedal to grip further into the stroke. They both work fine but it doesn't feel as crisp as it did. For those who have SS lines, does that sound normal?

Also, the car now sounds like it has a slight (kinda sounds like) lifter noise upon idle. It wasn't there before but they did adjust the balancer belt so could that cause maybe a slap of some kind?

Also, I may need some Flash help here. The car feels a little sluggish. It still runs pretty good but doesn't seem to have that the same pop that it did. It still idles and runs well, doesn't miss a beat but feels a touch down on power.

Flash, when you get a moment, maybe I could borrow your right foot and your ear?

All in all, it's still an awesome feeling to pull up to the Porsche shop and have someone staring at your car sitting among the 4 911's in the lot...

sounds like he didn't bleed any of the hydraulics right - probably didn't use the Motive bleeder - both pedals should feel much firmer - we can fix that

lifter noise is odd - i'll have to hear that

down on power? i wonder what he did to cause that? i'll take a look
