Thanks Flash. I found one on Ebay under Porsche 924, duh. I'll be watching it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->no worries - don't watch it - buy it - if there is one thing i have learned it's that trying to get a "deal" on something you really want often results in losing out on it - inexpensive stuff like this isn't worth the grief - i just give them whatever it takes to get it<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I've learned that lesson the hard way as well...trying to outbid people last minute, watching stuff to see if it doesn't sell and gets relisted...no more...if it's something I want or need, it gets bought....that simple. Stuff that I'm only moderately interested in gets put on the watch list, mainly so I can find it again quickly.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->yeah - found one on us ebay, though not through normal searching - the others were elsewhere - i'll disclose how to find the stuff once i get that last car<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Now, you say there is one NZG 968 out there on US ebay and it is one of the ones you already have but you won't share the link?? Come on, please.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->it's just silver cab - i got it earlier in a quick search - sorry - didn't save the link - it's pretty much always available, at least every time i search<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Well, there are many silver cabs out there but not NZGs. If you find another and it is NZG and you don't want it I would appreciate it if you could send me the link. Like I said, I never see the NZGs anymore but then again, I'm not familiar with the "non normal" searching techniques of eBay. Thanks

<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Jeff- I looked at your picture... No mint green?!
I think you're obligated to get some Porsche mint green paint, a spare cab, and paint it to match!<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Agreed, and they already have the black interior!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->odd - every time i do a search it turns up at least one silver cab
i'll do a search again in the next few days, but they are ALWAYS there, if you know how to look - definitely nzg too - i know this because they are not the more accurate models, and therefore i don't like them as much as the minichamps, and consequently tend to ignore them - note the absence of the wing window on the cabs, and the poor finish quality of the wheels
the minichamps look better - since i could care less what was sold in the 90s, and like everyone else, really only care about the fact that it looks good, i didn't spend that much time looking for the nzg - it was really only because of the extra colors that i bothered at all with nzg - they are just such poor quality - besides, porsche carries minichamps now, and has for a long time, and i'm not sure that they didn't in the US back then - they have been making cars for 18 years, are from germany, and have had the line since it came out
i have now confirmed that i have all of the minichamps versions - it looks like the only nzg i am missing is the white one - i'll get that one now and be done
not sure if i will pursue the other brands or not<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
NZG was the exclusive provider for Porsche back in the nineties. Like I said, 4 of the NZG 968s actually had part numbers in the Porsche accessories book and I actually purchased a couple of mine new when the 968s were still in the showroom. I agree that the minichamps are much nicer models but they are plentiful I like the NZGs because they are rare and period correct.

+1...I have a few Minichamps and some Maisto models as well. You're right about the NZG not being as "nice" but it seems they were "first".

<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->yeah, maybe, but like i said, "period correct" is not an issue to most people, and certainly not me, especially when the quality is so bad - but, i got both because both are out there - i want the whole rainbow of colors available, but could care less who makes them - there is no value increase by brand, so who cares? it like the books - who cares if it was at the dealership or not? if it's a book about 968s, i want it - it's not like these cars are ever going to become classics or collectable, or have any real value in our lifetime, so any authenticity, real or perceived, is really pretty moot<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Well, to each his own. Some people do care, me. We'll just have to agree to disagree and respect each other's point of view.

Kyosho makes some of the best 1:18 scale models I have ever seen. I own a few of them and everthing from the feel of the floor mats to the reading on the cluster is well detailed and exact. Looking to replace a few of my Ferrari's with Kyosho.
Too bad they never made a 968
I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->ok - just to make sure i wasn't again losing my memory, i contacted minichamps directly - they just got back to me
yes, they were sold at porsche dealerships beginning in 92 - the dealerships each buy them directly, so they may or may not have been at your local one, but are definitely "period correct"<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
And here I thought you didn't care about "period correct".
If I understand you correctly then it was on a dealership basis and whether that particular dealer decided to sell them as opposed to the NZGs which were officially licensed by Porsche, sold through Porsche parts, and even had a Porsche part#.
And I'm guessing that even at the dealerships that did sell the MCs the 968 wasn't included. I don't think they showed up until 2000 or so, at least that is when I recall seeing my first one.
Having visited the dealer many times back then, unable to afford a new 968, I purchased most of the Porsche produced 968 accessories including the 4 NZGs and my most coveted accessory, the 968 coffee cup!!!
