What I have are:

1 black coupe
1 black cab
1 violet blue coupe
2 violet blue cabs ***
2 amazon green coupes ***
2 polar silver cabs ***
1 horizon blue coupe ***
1 red cab
1 white coupe

These are NZG produced (metal, 1:43 scale). The *** indicates they were sold by Porsche at the dealerships back when the 968s were new. Those have a different box.

Is there a difference between the 2 purple cabs?

Purple and silver are always on the bay while the black and blues are pretty hard to find.

Nice collection

i have been collecting both the nzg and the minichamps (the line porsche now carries)

found a few "weirdos" too along the way too - never seen any others like them

a couple more to go, and then i have them all

fun stuff - hadn't seen the white one before - saw a listing for one not long ago, but the pic was a silver car, so i skipped it

The purple and silver you see now are the minichamps. Very nice and easy to find. NZG was the company Porsche worked with back when the 968 was out so those are much harder to find.

Bob, I see you have NZG coupe in yellow, I've been looking for that one. Did you get it in the set they came out with a while ago?

nzg has been easier for me to find in some colors, but harder in others - kind of a little here and a little there

in the tower, a couple of them are nzg - i'm going to ultimately have them all in towers - i just haven't popped for another one yet

i didn't buy any of them i sets - i got them all one at a time

i think the only nzg i am missing is the white one

i think the only minichamps i am missing is the black cab, and i'm not even sure they ever made it

i am willing to pay a premium for either

Interesting, I have found that the NZGs have all but dried up for years now. If you look on eBay right now there are 4 minichamps 968s and not a single NZG 968 and that is pretty much the way it always is. You have the horizon blue coupe? I understood that one was the rarest.

i have several E30 M3 race cars & a street car. As well as 3 Volvo 850 BTCC cars (1 from each of the 3 years the 850 was campaigned). All 1/43rd scale minichamps. I would love to get my hands on the discontinued Front Engine Porsche set which included a 924, 944, 968, & 928. It would have been nice if Minichamps made a 968 Turbo RS as well.

fox - you can still get the set you are talking about, but you have to hunt around dealership by dealership

I was hoping someone might have made a diecast ( or at least, some kind of metal ) 1:18 scale 968. Was prepared to spend a chuck-o-change for something like that, but no such luck. I have the 1:43 in horizon blue and in silver, which is enough... since neither iris blue or even midenight blue ( COUPE ) were made

My NZG 968 collection only consists of:

Silver Cab
Violet Cab
Horizon Blue Coupe

Anyone have a list of what was produced? I'm always on the look out for different colors and combos, so now that we have this thread, it'll be easy to figure out who's bidding against you!

I have lots of other NZG Porsche models mainly due to lack of space and money for the real ones!!

I should make a few phone calls. It used to be listed on Porsches websight and no longer is.

yeah - found one on us ebay, though not through normal searching - the others were elsewhere - i'll disclose how to find the stuff once i get that last car - i'm kicking myself for not pursuing further the white one i saw - that won't happen again - i won't be outbid either - i tend to bid REALLY high really early, and chase everyone away

there is a lot of cool stuff out there (like the factory CD and video tapes) - i'm just about done collecting 968 stuff - i have almost everything (at least certainly what i could possibly want)

still trying to find out if minichamps did a black cab

there are other brands out there besides those two as well, but minichamps and nzg are the only ones i know of that the dealerships carried

I have a front engine set but it is not the one that Porsche sold. I made it from individual pieces. Since I have a red coupe I was trying to have a complete red set of coupes. But I never found a red 924 coupe (1/43 scale) so I had to settle for a silver 924. Don't even know if the ever made one in red. So my "set" includes a red 928, red 944, red 968 and a silver 924. Still fun collecting them.
