Flash talked about this on another thread. For the unitiated among us, what the heck is this Durametric thing? Could you describe what it is, what it does, how it works, how difficult is it to use, and how much it costs? Thanks

it's diagnostic software that you run from a windows based laptop - there is also an interface cable that connects the laptop to the OBD1 port on the car - it allows you to read and clear codes and faults

HI Guys,

No it does not run on a mac, I already asked that. I just bought a new mac notebook and was excited to use it with this software but it will not work.
I have to be honest I am far from a computer guy and I can run this software with ease!!! Very simple to use, My only complaint would be that it only tells you the code number and no tech tips on it but I am only saying that because the Snap-On Solus I have will help you diagnose the problem, even leading you right to the bad sensor. So having said that the Sanp-On spoiled me in that sense, but never the less its great software and I would definitely recommend.

Looks very nice, but t looks like you have to buy the much more expensive professional version to be able to use it on a 968.

I was also interested to see what this SW is. It appears that they have an "Option 2" under the Enthusiasts Package that works for the 968 for $347.

Will it work using virtualisation software like Boot Camp or Parallells that allow Windows and Windows programs to run on a Mac?

If it is a single exe file it should, but if it needs to be installed it might be tougher to get it to run.

HI Guys,

It took me almost a 1/2 hr to find the port. I was looking like crazy under the drivers dash were they are usually located and I was embarrassed to ask here on the forum because I figured it was looking me right in the eye. But then I remembered the DME (computer) is on the passengers side and low in behold there it was.
plugs into USB port on the laptop, literally had the airbag light reset in about 1 min, its that easy!!!

Wow - this is the thread I've been looking for. I, too need to reset my airbag light after fixing the ODO in the dash. So what's the special announcement, Flash?

On another note, if anyone is interested in loaning or renting their reset tool, that would be great too!

Chris White (in NY) and I have been talking, trying to come up with a solution on the AB reset. I'll let him know about this thread.

Phil
