what's a bergvill device?

not sure the diagnostic port sends power though, regardless.  i believe the hammer is self powered, and the durametric uses the laptop power, so it wouldn't need to send power.  frankly, i never checked.

OBD2 devices do not work on this car.  to my knowledge, only the durametric and the bosch hammer can read this car.  it is OBD1 and not OBD2.  the language is very different.

You can find many OBD2 to OBD1 ( and vice versa ) adapters-converters on eBay for about $ 20 or so.. The one I bought "adapted" very well right into the garbage can .. I think flash is right, the instruments must have completely different language . Or maybe I just had a faulty adapter right out of the box, but I was not willing to try another one ..

See Joe's ,Birmingham Al, Air bag reset post April 5, 2013 . I think the 19 pin connector I purchased for another source is wired

Incorrectly.

i still don't think it will work.  all attempts to date to use an OBD2 device on our OBD1 ECU have failed.

It's not OBDII it's an interface he's built that speaks the right system just has an 14 pin standard OBDII plug

He did it like that so you have to buy his converter lead to make it work, one guy over here has one and it works

Durametric is much better but a bigger investment

what software does it use?  what capabilities does it have?  the only thing i've heard of so far, other than what i mentioned, was a gadget that could reset the idiot light, but it didn't do anything else.  it would be nice if there were something else out there.

Read this topic. Than you have scheme for connecting the wires. It is very simple

You don't need his 19 pins connector. But the connector is handy..

He uses the same software from Doug..

Ritchie.
He has copied the interface from Andy.

The motronic is possible by changing the adress in the software and the other thing is that the motronic can be read out with the blinking method.
