Do you do the following when in a store:
drop your Credit card/money on the counter instead of handing it to the cashier.
Talk on your cell when dealing with a cashier.
Ask a store employee a question without first greeting him/her or saying excuse me.

No to all 3.
And when in a restaurant, I always make sure to treat the server with respect as an equal (not a subordinate). You get much better service that way, and I actually have a much better time when eating out: my father taught me that.

I have on occasionally done the cell phone thing, I am perpetually on call and my clients/coworkers don't call my cell unless it is urgent. I will ask the person on the other end of the phone to hold on if possible. If it rings before I get in line I will delay getting in line until done like I did last night.

Q: drop your Credit card/money on the counter instead of handing it to the cashier.
A: No, I know what a pain it is to pick that thin piece of plastic off the counter.
Q: Talk on your cell when dealing with a cashier.
A: No, it's rude and thats what voice mail is for.
Q: Ask a store employee a question without first greeting him/her or saying excuse me.
A: No, They are busy working and it's proper to excuse the interruption .
And like Roland, I show everyone the same respect, they're working hard (well most) and deserve it.
yes on all three because I am a selfish bastard!
LOL
Makes me shake my head. I was in line today when a cashier gives the guy his total for his purchase. He flips open his wallet and tosses the CC on the counter. The ladies hand was extended! She gave a brief look down at the card then back a the man before picking it up. This was a well dressed "professional"( and I use that term lightly) business man. The cashier, a much bigger person in my book, remained courteous and went on the say "have a nice day" at the end of the transaction to which this guy simply ignored. I wanted to speak up but bit my tongue. Didn't want to come off as sticking my nose in someone else's business.
The cell and rude interruptions to ask a question, I also witness on a daily basis. So I threw them in there as well. Nice to see I'm not alone in this. Meaning it bothers others as well. just had to get it off my chest.
Still wish i spoke up though.

Really good points. I don't think talking to the rude will change their behavior.
I have mentioned to a cashier how well she behave....
