Design 1 Racing St. Patty's Day Special
#1

The luck of the Irish has struck again!

Spring is coming and it's time to start getting your 968 ready for the season.

We all know that clutch hoses age from the inside and can't be inspected. We also know that they love to burst on that first drive of the spring. You get out there all ready to have fun now that the clouds have finally cleared, and just as you go into that favorite sweeping turn, BANG! The pedal goes to the floor. Don't let that happen to you. Upgrade to the Design 1 Racing Stainless Steel Teflon lined clutch hose and never worry about that again.

Feeling a bit of flex you want to tighten up? How about a Design 1 Racing Strut Tower Brace and add some "bling" to your engine bay in the process.

Already got a Design 1 Racing Strut Tower Brace? Great! How is your firewall. We know these are subject to failure. By adding a Design 1 Racing Strut Firewall Brace you can prevent that, or cure your problem.

Help reduce the chances of heat related failures in your engine bay by adding a Design 1 Racing Exhaust Heat Shield.

Now through St Patrick's Day, Design 1 Racing offers FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING on all of the above items!

I missed out on the free shipping offer a long time ago, but I'd like to state that I own each of the products Falsh mentions, and they're all FANTASTIC. Top quality, excellent installation instructions, and rest assured that if anything does go awry, it will be taken care of. If you're on the fence about these items, get off and order them, because they enhance either the reliability, fun factor, safety, or longevity (or all of the above!) of the car.

Disclaimer: Appearances to the contrary, I'm in no way affilicted with D1R, although I have offered my services to their CEO as Chief Idiot Inspector, a job for which I'm eminently qualified, after trying to install the front landing pieces of the chassis brace SDRAWKCAB!

Good timing, the car is in the shop having a new clutch installed. The shop just called to tell me that the firewall behind the master cylinder is flexing and suggested that I contact some guy at D1 Racing about a strut tower brace and firewall brace combination he had seen on another 968.

I just noticed a highly freudian typo in my post - I used the word "afflicted" instead of "affiliated" when describing my connection, or lack of same, with D1R, and I swear it was by accident!

Chris - the firewall brace is awesome - it feels solid as a rock. My belief is that most of our firewalls aren't actually cracked, but given the placement of the master cylinder right at the very end of the firewall where it intersects the left inner fender well, it's just bound to start flexing over the years. That's why I say the firewall brace should be something everyone should install. Yes, it gets a bit pricey if you don't already have the strut tower brace, because firewall brace only works with the D1R strut tower brace (I believe, although that may not be strictly true), but if you can swing it, it's well worth it.

with a little persuasion it can also be made to work with the KLA, but that's it

Chris:

If you have your 968 at Bauer Porsche, the tower/firewall braces they saw were the ones they installed in my car a few weeks ago. Brian was quite impressed with the products.

lol - funny - sorry - nice try though. you're already getting free shipping on the heat shield since it really won't change anything when it's in that big box.

I talked to Bob yesterday and you know I thought it might be you, Bill. So mine is going to get the treatment as well. Parts order going in this weekend. I'm driving the car with a dragging clutch, not fun by we needed two cars today.
