Defintely a long tow indeed. Specially in a rented Trailblazer from the local airport that I got with 5,300 miles and returned with 13,000 3 weeks later! It had the 6-cyl and it was a little underpowered. I borrowed a nice super lightweight aluminum trailer that helped, but the inclines were taxing at best as we struggle to not abuse the tranny too much and avoided heavy loaded downshifts. Cruise control just could not be used. And NO! There is NOTHING flat between Philly and California! LOL...
I can't thank Flash enough for all the support. He was indeed my West Coast command and control center. He ensured I kept on track many times every day and also managed to have the last readily available adjustable fuel pressure regulator in the nation waiting for me at the hotel desk by the time I arrived. I don't know how many cases of wine am I in the hole with him now!... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
If you notice... stickers are different throughout the pics... The closer I got to Sunday, the more stickers I had to put on. It was a requirement to have the Hankook banner to participate in the event as they were the main sponsor. Redline, Stoptech, GRM, and CarDomain where also "strongly recommended". So Hoosier stickers had to come off along with the RSB windshield banner. To make up for RSB coming off the windshield, I added the
www.RSBARN.com graphics on the hood (closest to the windshield). That actually ended up loking nice. The green numbers were supposed to match with some blue and green graphics/stripes we had been designing but we never had time to order on time. Days before, I ordered the same "68" numbers in blue but they never made it to Cali for the event.
