I'm wondering if those of you who use data acquisition systems could comment on your opinions on the best systems considering value, performance, complexity etc. I had previously used an AIM dash system in a rental racer but I did not download any info or otherwise know much of the set up.



My thoughts were on installing an AIM Mychron3Gold ($999), which is the basic system with a lateral G sensor for lap mapping. Any comments/suggestions from those who use it or other systems, such as Traqmate etc.

I don't have a system in my car and I have not used many different systems, but, besides inputs and display dashs, etc. a very important part is the analysis software they provide. Many provide the software for free download or on a trial basis. Try a few a see what works best for you. The GrandAm GT car I crew for has AIM and I find the analysis studio pretty good. My .02.
