as a side note, while i like the idea of a glass top, i have one in the denali and i never use it. the sun beaming down on me through the glass is horrible

I agree...my wife's Highlander has one and a sliding cover and I always close the cover because I hate the sun beaming down on me. Probably why I got a coupeSmile

well that Ksucks. I think it was near mid or end of the week before most of the first group shipped. They had personnel out the week before when they went on sale. I ordered at 9am on opening day and it shipped Thursday. Fed Ex says Tuesday by end of day.

Any body finally get one of these yet? It seems like there has been some time pass since the introductory batch was to be shipped. Just curious as to fit & finnish/ rattles or squeaks/ hot in the sun?

Yes, got mine last Monday.

Top fits fine, no rattles but some squeaking. The two front clamps are not as tight as they should be - I will modify this. Otherwise, top looks good and is well worth the money.

And yes, the car gets hot. I don't think I will run the car with the top in summer - but then, I will be running DE events anyway with the solid top.

Another thing I noticed is that even with the seat all the way back, you are still sitting in front of the top and almost don't notice it ... I guess it is more for the passengers in the back seat so that they can have a good view of the sky <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

That is my exact feeling about the solid top too. I rarely take it off because I feel you get all the downsides (wind noise, sun beating down, etc) without much enjoyment because when I'm driving I dont really notice its open.

Mine's in and fits perfectly. I'll get a few weeks of autumn sunshine on my head before the insurance runs out.

Have loved my new Saratoga top since getting in on the first batch of new ones from Pilkington. The fit is perfect and the tint is just right.

Was driving to work the other day and the left side latch fell in my lap. The bolt which goes thru the glass from the top to the latch had failed. Just a little wind noise from the hole but the right side latch kept it firmly in place. I did not raise it or test the traffic cops.

Yesterday I got around to calling Pilkington. The were super nice. and are sending me a replacement assembly. They are also sending me a FedEx mailer to return the failed part to them. Sounds like very professional group who are willing to hop on any problem with their products. I'm a happy camper.

So 968s came with a steel removable roof, not fiberglass like 944s...?
