Cup holders
#1

Was looking for a good solution to a cup holder in the 968. Ran a search and came up with the post titled "coffee and the 968”

Q- What’s the “wedge” that was repeatedly referred to in that post? There was a dead link to an ebay auction for one and no pics in te post. Assuming their still available I did a search on ebay but found no wedge under cup holders. If you have a pic I would appreciate it.

I would like something tasteful but it appears the options are limited. I wonder if I can make this fit?

Similar ones that sat a little lower, were also available in grey and tan.

Autozone used to carry a similar one as well.

I have one of the collapsable kind on the side of the tranny tunnel. Works great and can be folded.

The wedge is the best answer I have found - with room for two cups, good stability, space for a cell phone or other items - and it is not a permanent attachment. I actually leave it on the floor behind the pax seat and only install when I need it. It does cut in a bit on the pax side seat but not a big problem.

Ya know even if its a Enzo, its nice to bring a drink along every now and then. Why design a car w/o one?

If I had my guitar building sons make the wedge out of some nice wood - would anyone be interested in it?

Any chance of that being done in carbon fiber or brushed aluminum? Either way, I would be intersted.

I bet you've got a market for something more upscale. . . make it look quality and tasteful . . . there are a bunch of 928ers out there. . .

Been using the "wedgie" for about 7 years. I move it to the back when I have a hitcher.

Took me about 20 trips to various stores until I found a travel

mug that fit snugly. Right after that, I went to Dunkin' Donuts and found that a large coffee

cup fits as if it and the wedge were meant for each other. You can feel the vacuum as you

pull it out it's so perfect. I try to keep that going, but as soon as my wife see that, she throws it

out when I'm not paying attention. I'll have to rinse it with the garden hose and wait till morning and bring the coffee pot to my car so that it never sees the inside of my house.

But now I just installed M030 suspension, and the coffee really wants to spill. It's a problem. I might have to create some sort of gyro suspension dampening thing for the wedge... Anyone want to tackle that?

"Initial D: First Stage," which first aired in Japan in 1998, is a consistently exciting and compelling anime series based on Shuichi Shigeno's popular manga (comic book) about downhill mountain road racing in Japan's Gunma Prefecture. The protagonist is high school boy Takumi who, unbeknownst to his classmates and buddies at the gas station where he works, has been honing his downhill driving skills for the past five years by speeding up and down Mt. Akina making early morning deliveries for his father's tofu shop. When Takumi just matter-of-factly beats an area road racing star on an impromptu downhill race, he finds himself thrust, somewhat reluctantly, into the world of "touge" (mountain) racing and the various teams from neighboring mountains. His close buddies, Iketani and Itsuki, who are tied to the local Akina Speed Stars, are stunned to learn of Takumi's secret skills and are somewhat infuriated by his nonchalant attitude. Takumi's single father, once a downhill champ himself, has made a point of nurturing this attitude by guiding his son, not by example or instruction, but by letting him find his own way.
