I didn't take pictures of my car when I had a small altercation with the wall at one of our tracks. I had enough time to think about which way would cost the least and chose to go in sideways. Not sure if this was the right option, I got everything on the passenger side (RHD car). So, although the damage was not great and I only had two small dents, I still had to re-paint the following;
Front Guard
Front Splitter (the grave trap sand blasted it to hell)
Front Nose - got slight paint damage)
Mirror
Door
Stone Guard
Rear Quarter
Rear Bumper
Replace the front plastic grill as it was shattered by the gravel trap)
To match the two stone guards, I got the other side re-painted as well.
After the event I priced a new nose - $3,500 from Porsche.
The guys who did the repairs over here for me is an authorised Porsche repairer (it was not an insurance job), but he managed to "weld" the nose where the splitter cracked the air opening under the nose. So the damage to the nose might be able to be repaired rather than replace the nose (although parts might be cheaper in Europe).
I feel for you, but remember that once repaired, it will be in better cosmetic condition than prior to the event. We had once of our members in a Gen I 997 GT3 RS just touch the wall and split the rear bumper. His repair cost was about my car value - so from a motorsport viewpoint, my event was relatively cheap. Much better to be racing a car that is relatively inexpensive to repair.
I was chasing 0.1 seconds at Lakeside to get a lap under 1 minute. I have not been able to come within a second on my previous times and I am too cautious at the end of the straight (where I went off). So your confidence takes a hit and you need to gradually build it up.
Good luck fixing the car. It will be worth it. It is a gutting experience to have happen, but it is repairable.
