Chrome Exhaust Tip
#21

[quote name='Ave' date='Apr 6 2005, 07:59 PM']Ralph, be sure to get some polish and finish the job - it takes some work with multiple appications, but the end result is worth the effort.  From 2 feet away you would swear it was chrome.  Great addition to the rear view.  As far as aligning the tip, it's just trial and error. Tighten, stand back and look, loosen-adjust-re-tighten, etc...

Sorry I'm late to all of your discussions and bump them back to the top...

What should someone expect to pay for either of the two chrome rolled exhaust tips, either the OEM or the aftermarket?

I've got a 1994 with the straight black tip. I would love for it to add some *BLING* to the tail of the car, especially since the car is black. It just seems really unfinished at the moment.

I can understand that polishing it will make it look a lot better from most angles, but how about from straight out to the rear? Can you tell if you are driving behind it? I'm thinking the answer is no and that's why I'd like a rolled tip.

Are these tips anything like the 944 tips? I remember my 944 was SS and I was able to REALLY polish that SOB so much it made my car look like crap!

I polished the OEM rolled tip that I bought from flash. You are right, for 2 feet away it looks like chrome and makes a subtle yet big difference in the looks.

Before that I polished the stock tip and although it looked better, it did not look any different from the rear as no metal shows. The only difference was looking down on it or the side view.
