CD player help
#1

My 92 coupe has the Blaupunkt Ventura CD83 stereo/cd player and the faceplate(LCD display) has become next to impossible to read.If I take my finger and move it around on the screen it will improve the visibility momentarily but will eventually revert back to the muddled look.Any tricks(removable faceplate) that might clear up the screen.Stereo/cd player still works great(I just don't know what radio station or track on cd I am listening to.

Mick,

Sounds like your back light on your display is out. Correct? If that is the case and pushing on the faceplate fixes the issue I would begin by cleaning the contacts on the faceplate with alchohol and a Q-Tip. Do not use an excessive amount and use minimal pressure. If it still does not work I would gently pull the pins up on the unit a very slight amount. Usually these are contact problems and are easily remedied. Please be careful and take your time.

Thanks for the tip.Actually,I just did all of that(probably needed to be done anyway) but I think it is actually the display. It lights up,its just garbled looking.I don't know,I guess I will just push buttons until I get what I am looking for(not worth buying new until it quits working).
