Castrol Synthetic GT LMA brake fluid
#1

Planning on changing the brake fluid on my '62 coupe, I picked up a bottle of Castrol GT LMA "synthetic" brake fluid that says its exceeds Dot 3&4 specifications. I bought this rather than the regular Castrol product because it was in the newer packaging. I queried Castrol NA on the compatibility of the synthetic and got a response that didn't mention that word: "GT LMA is approved for older cars that recommend compatibility with Girling Brake Systems and natural rubber seals. GT LMA combines both DOT 3 and DOT 4 preformance and exceeds both specifications." After additional verbage about DOT 3 and 4 fluids and their qualities, it says its important to follow the car's owner's manual. This car isn't tracked or driven hard. Anyone have experience or strong knowledge about this product?

It's great stuff and definitely what you want to use in an older car with a presumably older braking system. I use it in my 1974 MGB. My mechanic (and many others) reccommend it to be used in any older auto's braking system as it tends to fight moisture better than other brake fluids.
