[968Syncro]

Hello folks,



Noticed this on ebay: http://tinyurl.com/394om8. Looks the seller is offering:



"Certified Pre-Owned Porsche with Lifetime / Unlimited Mileage Warranty : Engine, Transmission, Drive axle, seals & gaskets and Towing for $1500."



This is really amazing, I think almost all of us plan to keep ours for a 'lifetime'. Wouldn't this be nice? At the bottom of the listing there are otherscars from the same store offering the same warranty. Wonder if there is a catch is, for example I once bought an extended warranty without reading the fine print. It was offered by the Dealer, not VW of America. The trans went bust, the dealer was out of biz, and I was out the premium!



Any comments on this 968 deal?

wow, a 968 "CABRILOT" ? - those are very rare I hear...that's why they're probably offering a lifetime warranty <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> ok but seriously, I would be very cautious and study the contract as well as the company behind the warranty with a fine tooth comb and huge magnifying glass <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Many warranty cos will not consider cars anyway near as old as ours are, nor ones with 77,000 miles on the odo. IMO, too good to be true. Either a bunch of exclusions in the warranty which gives them an out on a lot of what they ostensibly claim is covered, or the warranty company will likely be out of business before you can claim your first repair bill refund.. I could be wrong, but can't help being very skeptical about this.

Unless this warranty is a factory warranty. The car is Not a CPO car.



These are what we call gypsy warranties. Read the fine print. Thhe only warranties worth a damn are those that come from the factory.
