Carbon fibre inlet manifold
#1

I saw this video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIiqZoBeN3E and I really like the inlet manifold on this car. Do you guys know if anyone is selling it or if this is just a one off?

Looks like it has "porsche motorsports" on it. That would be official factory stuff wouldn't it?

I've seen this a few times over the years, and only on that car.
My "guess" is, it's either a Porsche developmental piece or a one off custom made.
I think it's the latter.

You will not see one for sale, and if you do, it gonna cost almost as much as a 968 whole.

while cool, all other things being equal, on a normally aspirated car, you will lose about 12hp, due to the deletion of the dual resonance feature

Yes, I though of that too. But this manifold is so cool I am almost prepared to sacrifice the horses

I think you may have to pry it out of the owners cold dead fingers...

I love everything about that car, I must have watched that video a hundred times. Does anyone know any specs on that car?

THe guy who owns the Black (and now Black with orange stripe) Fitzgerald Racing RS replica in Perth runs a business that makes Carbon Fibre items (for defense industries). If there was a market (but I am guessing not), he might be able to make it.

Who is going to make a 16V Turbo RS kit for under $5k? I doubt that there are many takers.

Flash - how would this type of manifold go with a SC engine?

superchargers don't care as much about the manifold - shapes still affect things, but not like normally aspirated engines - it's more about how much it would flow - you would just have to tune for it
